Day For Hope - 2017
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me…” – Matthew 25:35-36
St. Wilfred Episcopal & Bee Ridge Presbyterian Church will welcome Sarasota’s homeless and at-risk children in partnership with Ashton Elementary for the 1st annual Day 4 Hope event on Saturday, August 5, 2017.
The two churches will host 100 local, pre-qualified and pre-selected elementary school students. This event is designed to help meet a child’s basic back-to-school needs completely free of cost to their families.
Through partnership with the non-profit organization Hope 4 Communities, St. Wilfred & Bee Ridge will provide critical health services and requisite back-to-school items, including the following:
· Medical Exam
· Dental Exam/Cleaning Instruction
· Eye Screening
· Child & Family Portrait
· Backpack with School Supplies
· Personal Care Bag & Items
· $50 Gift Card for Clothes
· $25 Gift Card for Shoes
Food will be served throughout the day, ensuring all who attend will head home after their experience with nourished bodies and souls. Won’t you take your place at Bee Ridge’s biggest outreach event this year to provide homeless and at-risk children with everything they need to begin the first day of school with dignity?
