Rev. Dr. Kathleen Weller, Interim Pastor
Kathleen is an M. Div. graduate of McCormick Seminary, Chicago and earned her Doctor of Ministry degree in Christian Spirituality at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia. Additionally, she trained in conflict management for churches, is a Benedictine Oblate, and a certified Spiritual Director.
In 2009 Dr. Weller founded Peace River Spirituality Center. The center offers individual spiritual direction, church retreats, guided retreats, meditation classes, and coaching for men and women who are spiritual leaders of faith communities. Peace River Spirituality Center's ministry is ecumenical and welcomes people from many faith traditions. In addition to Peace River Spirituality Center, Dr. Weller is a Parish Associate at Pine Shores Presbyterian Church where she facilitates a weekly meditation group and presides at a Sunday morning contemplative worship experience.
Since moving to Florida in 2002, Dr. Weller has served as a Designated Pastor, Interim Pastor, Temporary Supply Pastor and as an Installed Pastor. She spent 6 years on the Committee on Ministry, has been Moderator of the Presbytery; and Moderator of the Steering Committee. She currently serves on the Permanent Judicial Committee.
Kathleen and Sam have been married for 29 years. They have one son, Sean, married to Shana, and three grandchildren living in Bloomington, IN. Husband Sam has been a pharmacist for 39 years. Both enjoy living near the Gulf and Florida’s endless summers, with their dogs Bear and Forest though she still calls Chicago home--Go Cubs Go!
