about us

Bee Ridge Presbyterian was established in 1917 as the first church in the then rural community of Bee Ridge.  The Bee Ridge community was largely agricultural and was named for the large number of bees in the area.  Those desiring to worship together would travel via foot or horse and cart from outlying areas to gather on the nearly 6 acres that comprise our current campus.

In the intervening years the orange groves and other agricultural enterprises have been replaced by houses, the horse and carts have been replaced by modern day cars & trucks.  Yet the community faithful to conserving God's creation remains.

mission & vision

to be led by the One who came to show us how to "live and move and have authentic being" 1 John 3:1  "See what love God has given us, that we should be called children of God; and that is what we are."

BE LIKE JESUS - LOVE THROUGH ACTION

to be the peaceable kingdom as described by the prophet Isaiah.  Isaiah 11:6  "The wolf shall live with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the kid, the calf and the lion and the fatling together, and a little child shall lead them."

BE INCLUSIVE - OPEN TO ALL

to take stewardship of all creation seriously, and invite others to join us as we live out our Genesis mandate;  Genesis 1:27 ff.  Then God said, "Let us make humankind[c] in our image, according to our likeness; and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the wild animals of the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth."

BE AN ADVOCATE OF CREATION - CARE FIERCELY
